The Maxi-Cosi Raia 360 LX is a rotating convertible car seat designed to make everyday loading and unloading easier while providing a single restraint from newborn to approximately 4 years.

How Does the Raia 360 LX 360° Rotation Work?

One of the most distinctive features of the Raia 360 LX is the relationship between its rotating seat, base and Australian top tether.

The top tether is attached to the base, helping keep the child access area clear. The seat can then rotate on the base towards the vehicle door, making it easier to place your child into the restraint and secure the harness before rotating the seat back into the appropriate travelling position.

This is particularly useful while rearward facing, when conventional top-tether arrangements can otherwise make access more awkward.

The Raia 360 LX uses easy-turn handles to operate the rotation. Always ensure the seat has been returned to an approved travelling position and correctly locked before driving.

SMART Lock Vehicle Seatbelt Installation

The Maxi-Cosi Raia 360 LX uses the manufacturer’s SMART Lock vehicle seatbelt installation system.

It is not an ISOFIX installation system. The base is installed using the vehicle seatbelt together with the restraint’s top tether in accordance with the Maxi-Cosi instructions.

SMART Lock is designed to help achieve and maintain appropriate vehicle-belt tension while providing visual feedback during installation.

Black-to-Green Tension Indicators

The SMART Lock system incorporates indicators that change from black to green to help show when the required belt tension has been achieved.

Red-to-Green Seat Lock Indicator

A separate red-to-green indicator helps confirm that the rotating seat itself is correctly locked into position on the base.

These indicators assist with installation and everyday checks, but they do not replace following the supplied instruction manual and correctly attaching and tensioning the top tether.

Extended Rearward and Forward Facing

The Raia 360 LX provides extended rearward-facing use up to approximately 30 months, followed by forward-facing use up to approximately 4 years.

These ages are approximate. The correct time to change configuration is determined by your child’s size, the restraint’s shoulder-height markers and the instructions supplied with the seat rather than age alone.

Newborn Insert and Harness Adjustment

For younger babies, the Raia 360 LX includes a plush newborn insert designed to provide additional support during the early months. Maxi-Cosi states the insert is suitable for use up to approximately 12 months, subject to the restraint instructions and your child’s fit.

As your child grows, the one-hand 10-position headrest adjusts together with the integrated harness, reducing the need to manually rethread the harness through different slots.

Magnetic harness holders help keep the straps out of the way while you’re placing your child into the seat, while the intuitive crotch buckle is designed to make everyday harnessing easier.

Air Protect and Rebound Management

The Raia 360 LX incorporates Maxi-Cosi’s patented Air Protect technology for head and torso protection.

A built-in rebound bar forms part of the restraint’s rearward-facing design and helps manage movement of the restraint during an impact.
