Maxi-Cosi Fame Stroller & Bassinet
The Maxi-Cosi Fame Stroller & Bassinet is a premium full-size stroller package designed for families who want newborn comfort, smooth everyday handling and some genuinely unusual convenience features in one system.
The Fame Bassinet is included, so you have a dedicated newborn option from day one. The stroller seat itself also offers a lie-flat position and can be used from newborn, giving you flexibility in how you use the Fame as your baby grows.
What makes the Fame particularly interesting is that Maxi-Cosi has gone beyond the usual premium-stroller checklist. LumiRide LED lighting, an integrated power system, a height-adjustable bassinet and the ability to fold with the seat facing either direction all address practical aspects of everyday use.
Fame Bassinet Included
This Bubs n Grubs package includes the Maxi-Cosi Fame Bassinet in the matching colour, rather than requiring you to purchase the bassinet separately.
The bassinet features a double-sided memory foam mattress, ClimaFlow ventilation and a large extendable canopy to create a comfortable newborn environment.
At 6 kg including the mattress, it is a substantial premium bassinet rather than an ultra-light carrycot. Its features are focused on comfort and easier everyday access.
Close2Me Adjustable Bassinet Height
One of the Fame Bassinet’s most useful features is Maxi-Cosi’s Close2Me system, which allows the bassinet to be positioned at three different heights.
That means you can adjust where your baby sits relative to you rather than having one fixed bassinet height. The higher positions can also reduce how far you need to bend when placing your baby into or lifting your baby out of the bassinet.
SoothingSlope Comfort Position
The Fame Bassinet also incorporates Maxi-Cosi’s SoothingSlope comfort position.
As with any newborn sleep or positioning feature, use the bassinet only in accordance with the current Maxi-Cosi instructions and recommended configuration for your child.
LumiRide LED Lighting
The Fame’s LumiRide LED light system is one of its most distinctive features. Integrated lighting is designed to help keep the stroller and parent more visible when walking in lower-light conditions.
It’s a practical feature for families who regularly walk early in the morning, around dusk or at other times when additional visibility can be useful.
LumiRide should be treated as an additional visibility feature, not as a replacement for normal road and pedestrian safety precautions.

Integrated Power System
The Fame also incorporates an integrated power system, giving the stroller an electrical platform for its powered functionality.
Rather than making assumptions about charging devices or battery capabilities, we recommend using the system only as described in the Australian Maxi-Cosi instructions supplied with the stroller.
CosiCruise Suspension and All-Terrain Wheels
Maxi-Cosi equips the Fame with CosiCruise all-wheel suspension and puncture-proof all-terrain wheels.
This combination is designed to improve comfort and control across the surfaces families encounter in everyday use, including shopping centres, footpaths, parks and other mixed urban terrain.
Puncture-proof wheels also remove the maintenance and inconvenience associated with inflatable tyres.
Comfort from Newborn to Approximately 22 kg
The Fame stroller is suitable from birth up to approximately 22 kg. Its ergonomic reversible seat includes a lie-flat position for newborn use, high-density memory foam and ClimaFlow breathable mesh to improve airflow.
As your child grows, the seat can be used parent-facing or world-facing depending on their stage and your preference.
A large UPF 50+ canopy provides additional coverage, while the easy-in/out harness is designed to make everyday securing of your child simpler.
Folds with the Seat Facing Either Direction
A particularly useful Fame feature is its ability to fold with the stroller seat attached in either direction.
That means you don’t need to remove and reverse the seat simply because you’ve been using it parent-facing rather than world-facing before folding the stroller.
This is the sort of detail that can make a noticeable difference when you’re regularly loading and unloading a full-size stroller.
How Heavy Is the Maxi-Cosi Fame?
The Fame stroller weighs 13.5 kg.
That makes it a substantial premium full-size stroller rather than an ultra-lightweight travel stroller. The weight needs to be considered alongside what you’re getting: a full-size reversible seat, all-wheel suspension, puncture-proof wheels, LumiRide system and premium construction.
If you’ll frequently lift your stroller into a high vehicle boot, carry it up stairs or move it in and out of storage, we recommend trying the Fame in person before buying.
Will the Maxi-Cosi Fame Fit in My Car?
The Fame measures approximately 61.5 cm wide × 110 cm high × 95.5 cm deep when open.
Those dimensions are useful for comparison, but they don’t tell you everything about real-world vehicle storage. Boot opening shape, available depth, other items you carry and how you prefer to load the stroller all matter.
If boot fit is important to you, bring your vehicle to Bubs n Grubs in Brisbane and assess the Fame in person rather than relying on dimensions alone.
Maxi-Cosi Fame Travel System Compatibility
The Fame can also be converted into a travel system using compatible Maxi-Cosi baby capsules.

Put Through Its Paces by Frank & Judy
The Maxi-Cosi Fame Stroller & Bassinet has been personally tested at our Brisbane store. Frank checks the fold mechanism, lifting weight, suspension and how it fits into a car boot; Judy assesses bassinet comfort, canopy coverage and everyday practicality for growing families. Nearly two decades of hands-on experience between them, still hands-on with every pram.
Who Is the Maxi-Cosi Fame Best For?
The Fame is particularly well suited to families who want a premium full-size stroller and dedicated newborn bassinet in one package, and who value ride comfort, parent-facing and world-facing flexibility, easier bassinet access and premium convenience features.
It should also appeal to parents who regularly walk in mixed everyday environments and value features such as all-wheel suspension, puncture-proof wheels and LumiRide visibility.
Who Might Prefer Something Else?
The Fame won’t be the right stroller for every family.
If your highest priority is the lightest possible stroller for frequent lifting, stairs or air travel, a 13.5 kg full-size stroller may be more than you need. Likewise, families with particularly limited boot or home storage space should check the Fame physically rather than buying on specifications alone.
The benefit of trying the Fame in store is that you can assess the weight, fold, steering, bassinet height and overall size yourself before deciding whether those premium features justify the extra size and weight for your lifestyle.
Why Buy Your Maxi-Cosi Fame from Bubs n Grubs?
Bubs n Grubs is an Australian Authorised Maxi-Cosi Retailer, and our Brisbane team can help you compare the Fame with other premium strollers rather than simply reading a feature list online.
You can try the steering, fold the stroller, lift it, explore the Close2Me bassinet positions and assess how the complete package works before making your decision.
For families who are also building a travel system, we can help you understand the compatible Maxi-Cosi capsule options and how the different components work together.
The Bottom Line
The Maxi-Cosi Fame Stroller & Bassinet is a feature-rich premium stroller package with several genuinely distinctive ideas, particularly the LumiRide lighting system, Close2Me adjustable-height bassinet and ability to fold with the seat facing either direction.
Its 13.5 kg stroller weight means it isn’t designed to compete with lightweight travel strollers. Instead, the Fame prioritises ride comfort, newborn versatility, premium materials and everyday convenience in a full-size stroller system.
With the Fame Bassinet and capsule adaptors included, the package gives families several ways to travel from newborn while continuing to support their child through to approximately 22 kg.
