Gypsy Kids is breathing a colourful, directional air into the world of baby and kids linen essentials for year-round. Using transeasonal global prints, Gypsy Kids is inspired by a kaleidoscope of cultural influences from Japanese Kimonos and Indian Kaftans to Chinese Cheongsam and a traditional British flair, bringing a new kind of global fashion to tiny tots.
Gypsy Kids has developed a simple and unique range of bed linen and decorator items. The 100% natural cotton collection features fitted sheets, flat sheet sets and quilt cover sets, complemented with scatter cushions, European pillow cases and decorator flags – creating a clean, smart and stylish look for the Nursery. Woven blankets and soft microfibre throws will be introduced in early 2010.
Gypsy Kids has been developed by husband and wife team, Melanie and Murray Quirk, inspired by the newest addition to the Quirk family, Zac Henry. Both Melanie and Murray have a background in textile design, manufacturing, importing, sales, wholesaling and retailing, and Melanie has also been involved in fashion and publishing for a number of years. After the birth of Zac in early 2008, Melanie discovered a collection of baby clothing ideas, print designs and fabrics that she had collected on her travels around the world during her career and her overseas holidays.
