Em’s 4 Kids EarMuffs
Em’s 4 Kids EarMuffs are almost the industry standard just like the baby ear muffs – they are the first real ear muffs designed for kids that actually block sound and protect baby’s ears!
Weighing only 190 grams, these earmuffs are light but sturdy. They can be folded up to fit in the palm of your hand, making them easy to carry with you, or store away.
The age range for Em’s 4 Kids Earmuffs is 6 months to mid-teens.
Why do children need earmuffs?
This is a question that we get asked quite often! In the first years of life, a child’s hearing is particularly sensitive to loud noise, be it intermittently or frequently. And since hearing damage is permanent, it’s necessary to take every possible precaution to ensure that your child’s hearing is protected when in noisy environments.
Our specially designed earmuffs will help protect your child’s hearing from any loud noises. Em’s 4 Kids Baby Ear Muffs are lightweight, compact and easy to use!
Em’s 4 Kids earmuffs are great for settling your child while in noisy environments, such as:
- Motorsport Events (such as drag racing, Formula 1 and V8 Supercars)
- Fireworks Displays
- Around the house and in the yard
- Crowded places, such as shopping centres

What do the letters printed on the earmuffs refer to?
The letters printed on the side of the earmuffs refer to various international safety standards:
ANSI S3.19 – The American National Standards Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that oversees the development of voluntary consensus standards for products, services, processes, systems, and personnel in the United States. Equivalent Australian companies include SAI Global and Standards Australia. S3.19 is the standard introduced by the ANSI to regulate hearing protection devices. Em’s 4 Kids and Em’s 4 Bubs meet these requirements.
EN352-1: 1993 – This is the European Standard for hearing protection and hearing protectors, as well as protective clothing and other safety measures. Em’s 4 Kids also meet this standard.
What ages are Em’s 4 Kids earmuffs suitable for?
Em’s 4 Kids can be worn by children from the age of 6 months to mid-teens.
We don’t recommend the Em’s 4 Kids product for children under the age of 6 months. This is due to the fact that newborns heads are quite soft, and the earmuffs are a reasonably tight fit (this is why we created the Em’s 4 Bubs baby earmuffs).
PLEASE NOTE: This is a RECOMMENDATION only. We have had customers use Em’s 4 Kids on children less than 6 months, with no problems whatsoever.
Should you find the Em’s 4 Kids earmuffs to be a bit too tight, they can be stretched slightly. Simply flex the earmuffs outwards for 10 seconds. They will stay in their original shape but will be a little less tight.
Do Em’s 4 Kids earmuffs come in different sizes?
Em’s 4 Kids earmuffs are a “one size fits all” product. Each side of the earmuffs is adjustable in length. Once placed on the head, each ear covering can be lengthened simply by pulling the ear covering downwards. As a result, Em’s 4 Kids earmuffs grow with the child!
I have a 12 month old. It seems that either product is suitable for me. Which product should I use?
We deliberately allowed a bit of crossover in the age range for the Em’s 4 Bubs and Em’s 4 Kids, to give parents of young children a choice. If some parents feel that the Em’s 4 Kids are still too tight for their 12 month old, they can continue to use the Em’s 4 Bubs for another 6 months until their child has grown. Alternately, if a parent wants a product that will last a long time and grow with their child, then the Em’s 4 Kids provide this option.
